PLACE Lab is delighted to present to you the ACT Government’s Gender Sensitive Urban Framework and Implementation Toolkit. Led by our very own Director Anna Chauvel over the past two years, this project has been a heartfelt endeavor, reflecting the core of her design philosophy—approaching design with empathy and a deep understanding of the user experience.
The significance of this initiative lies in its focus on gender-sensitive urban design. By adopting this approach, we aim to create public spaces that are inclusive, safe, and comfortable, benefiting all members of the community. The outcomes go beyond just catering to women or gender diverse individuals; they contribute to the development of a more livable city for everyone.
We would like to acknowledge the team involved: Communication Link, OCULUS, and Inhabit Place and the ACT Government champions.
